‘Star Wars: The Cestus Deception, A Clone Wars Novel’ – Chapter 1 (Part 2)

Well, it was Sunday and Heather and I had plans on going to church today, but I forgot to set the alarm last night and maybe that was good.  The kids even slept in and we all ended up waking up around ten o’clock.  Whoops!  Of course, it didn’t help that we all got in last night at midnight.  So, Heather said we had to at least get the kids to church for Sunday School, so I got them fed and got them in to church by eleven o’clock for Sunday School.  I then came home and did some computer work downstairs and continued my work on transferring all my tapes from tape to DVD.  At noon, we went and picked the kids up and headed to the mall.  We went and exchanged my gloves at J.C. Penney’s because I bought them a little more than two weeks ago and they already had a hole in them.  They exchanged the gloves no problem.  We went shopping in the mall a little bit and then decided to go to our FanForce meeting.  The meeting went well and we had fun as always.  I forgot to address a topic for the podcast, but I thought I would get that done at the next meeting.  We really extended the fun we had last night at the meeting.  We got done with the meeting and Heather took the car and headed to Wal Mart to get some things and I got a ride with Danny and Shannon to Target and we started shopping for the kids at the hospital.  I have to say it was really kind of fun to shop for these kids and I think we all got into it and got quite excited over the event.  It’s gonna be fun!  We got done with that and Heather picked me up and we loaded up the car and started off for home.  We stopped at the Hess Station and got air put in the tires of the rear wheels of the car.  We then decided to get dinner at Arby’s to make our evening go a little faster.  When we got home, the kids helped by unloading the car and I continued working on my transition away from video tapes.  We took care of some messages and called my mom to talk to her.  After that, Heather and I watched “Survivor:  Gabon” to find out that Bob won, which made me happy.  It was a long day and night, but tomorrow is another work day and it’s time to face another Monday.

Okay, so let’s talk about Part 2 of “Star Wars:  The Cestus Deception, A Clone Wars Novel” by Steven Barnes…..

Chapter 1 (Part 2):  A two passenger Limus Class transport caem out of the clouded sky of the planet after leaving it’s hyperspace ring in orbit.  The craft landed smoothly and the doors opened to a bearded man and his clean shaven companion.  The bearded man was Obi-Wan Kenobi and his follower was Anakin Skywalker.  For thirty-six hours they shared duties of navigation and sleep.  This made Obi-Wan tired and cranky and Anakin raring for some action.  They were summoned from their mission on Farscan VI by Supreme Chancellor Palpatine himself.  Anakin said they must part and Obi-Wan told him he needs to study while at the Temple.  They continued on their walk along the skywalk and Obi-Wan’s mind was full of thoughts.  Then Anakin asked him if he was still annoyed with him.   It was a reference to his rash actions on Forscan VI.  Forscan VI was a fringe planet that had no affiliation with either The Republic or The Seperatists, but Seperatist agents had set-up a training facility on the planet.  They needed to repel those agents without leting outsiders know they had done so.  Obi-Wan said they kept the situation under control.  He said he handled it conservatively and Anakin used his usual vigor.  He said Anakin hadn’t disobeyed an order, so he called it creative problem solving.  Anakin was happy to know that he still would received Obi-Wan’s high recommendation and that he was beginning to understand Anakin’s high level of skill.  Anakin then admitted to making a mistake during the mission and Obi-Wan gave him credit for admitting his errors and that his report would reflect this.  Anakin wished Obi-Wan good luck and told him to give Chancellor Palpatine his regards.  Anakin hoped into a hovercar and left.  Obi-Wan shook his head as he pondered whether Ankin could become mature or not.  Then he wondered what emergency caused them to call him back to Coruscant…..
