‘Star Wars: Shatterpoint, A Clone Wars Novel’ – Chapter 21 (Part 5)

Well, it’s Wednesday and I woke up this morning with almost a depression of sorts.  I was not only depressed that the Republicans lost the Presidency, but now so many seats have been lost in the Senate and the House, I believe the country will simply slide into Socialism with no voice to control what is about to happen.  I was so depressed this morning that even though Heather was home, I didn’t talk much.  I was disgusted with my country.  I don’t want to say angry, because I was no longer angry, but I was looking for an answer, and by the end of the day, I think I found it in two different ways.  Anyway, I managed to get out the door on time for school and the kids got out the door on time for school.  My students did a review Jeopardy game in class today and I was a little irked because my Jeopardy game doesn’t work so well with the Smart Board.  Somehow, the technology actually made playing the game harder, not easier.  Hmmphh!  Anyway, I made it through the day with my students and I got to lunch time and figured out what was really bothering me about the election.  The party I’m part of, The Republican Party, has done NOTHING for me!  I really am a staunch conservative and quite honestly, The Republican Party I believed in during the 1990’s is gone.  So, what am I going to do?  I’m going to change parties.  I researched the idea during lunch, and found this party:  http://www.constitusionparty.com.  I believe in EVERYTHING they believe in and I believe that the Constitution should be read verbatim and not interpretid, I believe the courts have too much power in the land, I believe there is too much big government, and I believe that this country needs to go back to it’s roots.  This party believes in everything I believe in.  Well, I was not only so motivated to switch parties, no, I thought the time for action had come.  I decided to act on my moral principals and start a Podcast for Conservatives.

So, after I got home I started to research the life of Barrack Obama and decided that I needed to educate those that don’t know.  So, thus was born “The Conservacast”.  I was so motivated, I put show notes together in a half hour and recorded in another half hour and had the show on the air within the hour.  The show can be found online at:  http://www.conservacast.mypodcast.com.  I just simply had to do it!  Not only did I put the Podcast online, but I made a logo for the Podcast and an email.  So, you can pretty much tell what I did all night long.  I only took a break long enough to eat dinner with the family.  Heather’s a little upset because I decided to do this, but as I explained to her that if the “Fair and Balanced” act gets passed by Congress, guys like Sean Hannity and Michael Savage are going to get silenced and then where are Conservatives going to go?  Well, I think online and I’m hoping to beat everyone to the punch!  We’ll have to see if I’m right.  Once I got done with this, I watched some of “Knight Rider” and “C.S.I.:NY” and then went to bed with Heather.  Tomorrow was going to start final exams with students and those always tend to be interesting days.

Okay, soe let’s talk about Part 5 of Chapter 21 of “Star Wars:  Shatterpoint, A Clone Wars Novel” by Matthew Woodring Stover…..

Chapter 21 (Part 5):  Chalk asked Mace to take the Nav controls as she slumped over in pain.  That’s when she moved her hand that was on her chest that revealed a huge entrance and exit wound she had on her body.  Mace was amazed that she never reacted, but fought on.  From all that Mace could figure, she got hit by a slug during the GAV attack.  Then Mace said to turn left at the next corner when an object came crashing down out of the sky and burned everything around them.  It was a skyhopper from the spaceport that had gotten shot down by the Droid Starfighters and Mace struggled to control the ship.  That’s when Mace realized the sky was full of ships and Mace said, “Oh Depa” and realized that she had put the entire city of Pelek Baw at risk.  Mace soon realized there were over a hundred crashed ships all over the city and he could feel pain, rage, grief, and horror from all of them through The Force.  However, the spaceport felt different and Mace began to wonder what Depa had done.  Suddenly, Mace received a call form Vastor.  At first, the Lor Pelek had a hard time communicating with his grunts, but was solved by the environment of Pelek Baw.   He thanked Mace for giving them the city and he explained that they dedided to redecorate.  Mace went to ask for seventy-one, when he realized that the Korun had killed the clone.  Mace asked to talk to Dpa and Kar said he’s arranged it so Depa will never have to talk to him again.  Mace asked him to stop and Kar said he would, when everyone was dead.  Mace said he didn’t understand and Kar said he did.  That’s when Mace understood, but it was too little too late and he was left with no words.  Then Kar said he called to say goodbye as he was about to die a hero’s death.  Mace said he was not dead yet and Kar asked what time it was.  Mace reflected back to a noise that occurred when Kar jumped on the gunship at the spaceport and he told Nick to hang on.  That’s when the arming levers of the seat ejectors armed and shot their seats into the air as a proton grenade that Kar had clamped onto the nose of the gunship detonated…..
