‘Star Wars: Shatterpoint, A Clone Wars Novel’ – Chapter 21 (Part 4)

Well, it’s Tuesday and in all reality I just woke up mad this morning!  I woke up mad because I knew what was going to happen at the end of the day before it even happened and as an American, it sickened me!  But, I tried to make it through the day anyway.  I got up this morning and got the children up and quite honestly, Heather and I were still fighting from last night and this morning it spilled over into fighting over text messaging.  It didn’t go so well and quite honestly it didn’t make my day start out on a good note to begin with.  I got to school and knew I had some time on my hands because of a field trip.  I started off with most of my class for first period, until they left on a field trip and I only had two students left.  Second period my entire class was gone, but third period we were able to finish up our podcasts and our “Havianas” MYP lesson and prepped students for tomorrow.  And seventh period I had three students for class.  I didn’t have a lot of students today, but I did feel like I got a lot accomplishe.  I found it interesting as the day went on, I had more and more of my conservative friends come and talk to me saying they were concerned about the direction the country was headed and asked me what they could do.  My only answer was to get out and vote.  I didn’t know what else to tell them other than to pray and hope for the best.  I got done with school and stuck around and did some more paper grading and then it was time for SMASH.  Our rehearsal went well tonight, and Jim added in an insane part to our stick routine now that is going to take me weeks to get!  Thanks a lot Jim!  LOL!  I got done with SMASH and headed to my polling place and voted and came home.  We all had dinner together and Heather and I went downstairs and watched the tape from T.V. last night.  Then we found “Family Guy” and flipped back and forth between that and the election coverage.  By the end of the evening Heather noticed I was pretty silent.  She asked me what was wrong and I told her that I was disgusted.  NOT because we have a black president, because quite honestly I haven’t even been thinking about that from the beginning.  I told her I was disgusted because the country was going to become socialist.  She said I was over-reacting, but quite honestly, I don’t think I am!  I am more disgusted with people in this country only because the issue of race really DID drive this election.  SO many people were interested in seeing the first black president in this country, that they never bothered to find out what the man stood for, and I believe that this President will be the downfall of Democracy in our time.  I was angry by the time I went to bed and was wondering what tomorrow as truly going to bring.

Okay, so let’s talk about Part 4 of Chapter 21 of “Star Wars:  Shatterpoint, A Clone Wars Novel” by Matthew Woodring Stover…..

Chapter 21 (Part 4):  Sometimes when things go wrong, it starts with one small thing and causes a complete domino effect.  But sometimes your problems come in small bursts.  After they left the warehouse district, Mace backed down the engines of the gunship to a crawl and the citizens of Pelek Baw stepped aside to let the ship pass by.  Nick asked if they knew where they were and then looked back and saw the fires in the night sky and commented about the element of surprise.  Nick said the Ministry of Justice is a fortress and they  won’t get in there.  Mace said they weren’t heading there.  Nick was shocked!  Mace said he thinks that Geptun is too smart and that he is not at the Ministry of Justice and that going there would only be giving in to an obvious trap.  Mace also pointed out that the signal wasn’t masked, so Mace figured he was somewhere with sophisticated enough electronics to fake it’s origins.  Mace then deduced that Geptun may be in the Washeteria and Mace asked Nick if he could get them there and Nick said to head Northeast, but Chalk tried to interupt, but instead, she coughed up blood…..
