Well, Tuesday and it was the second day of the week and I had high hopes going into my day today.  I had a lot to get accomplished and I have to say that I hope it all goes according to plan.  I can only hope, right?  I got up this morning and got myself going for the day.  It wasn’t a bad start to the day.  Tara managed to actually get herself motivated and moving this morning which I was very pleased with.  We got out the door on time and the kids were off to school while I was off to work.  I got to school and got things together for the day and was glad to find out that we would be having a meeting today about what I will be presenting to the staff for our MYP meeting on the 9th of Ocober.  In the back of my mind, that date is looming in my head and I’m concerned about making sure that I’m prepared for the event.  It was good to know the District MYP coordinator was going to meet with me and the art teacher that are presenting and informing us of what is expected of us for the day.  I got on with my day and I have to say that the students were much better about getting their two-week reports in to me today.  Although there were a few that still forgot, I decided to give them a last chance tomorrow.  My classes seemed to go okay as well.  They worked hard and were getting quite a bit of work done.  It was odd.  Almost as if the sun and moon aligned and suddenly all my students decided to do all their work without question at once.  I was wondering if this year was going to be different than years in the past.  We had our meeting about the 9th today and things seemed to go well.  I had a pretty good idea of what I needed to do for the meeting, now I just gotta put it all into a powerpoint presentation so that I can be prepared for that day.  Once the school day was done, I had to wait around for SMASH rehearsal, so I sat around and did some grading of papers and updating of my gradebook and one of the janitors talked to me about the financial crisis in this country.

You see, one of the janitors at my school is a conservative like I am and he listens to Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, and Michael Savage like I do.  Quite honestly, this economic bail out plan sounds like a bunch of crap to me!  Why should I be on the hook because a bunch of guys on Wall Street took a risk on giving loans to Americans who couldn’t afford them?  Why were they giving loans to these people in the first place?  Oh, wait!  It was because Former President Bill Clinton urged them to and almost forced them to.  Now look where we are!  This plan is going to cost each of us over $3000 a piece to fix!  Why am I on the hook for this?  I told the janitor at my school, there is a quick fix to all of this.  Stay out of it!  Let capitalism do it’s job.  Keep the government out!  More importantly, why are we giving money to FAILED companies?!!!  That’s the worst economic plan I’ve ever seen in my life!  Folks, we’re having money stolen out right from underneath us and there’s nothing we can do about it!  Man, corruption is fatal!  I hope to God they never vote to give Wall Street this money!  Okay, I’ll get off my soapbox now.

I got done talking and grading papers and then headed over to SMASH rehearsal.  We played through my arranged version of “The Star Spangled Banner” and it went great and sounded great as well!  We then went through rehearsal and talked about our gameplan for the Vestal show on the 12th of October.  I got done with SMASH and called Heather on the way home and she made dinner mobile for me so I could get downstairs and record for my podcast.  I got home and recorded the last few segments of my podcast and started working on the rest of the editing.  I worked the entire night on my podcast and was editing and publishing till the wee ours in the morning.  As a matter of fact, I did not get to bed until 1 in the morning getting my podcast online.  All well, such is the life of a podcaster!

Well, it was Monday and I was tired because of all the things I tried to force myself to do.  But, I had to forge ahead and look to this week and the week after.  I’m a little worried about getting things done with my students in time for the end of the quarter, but I will eventually get to a point where we can do what is expected of us in the quarter.  I got up this morning and got the kids up .  It seemed like a normal day, except that Tara had decided that she was going to take a half an hour to get dressed this morning.  This did not start my week off on a good foot.  I got the other two going and when the babysitter came, I told her that Tara needed to brush her hair and finish getting ready for school.  Man, she really is starting to irk me in the morning.  I got to school and got things together for the school day and managed to have an okay day with my students.  I’m a little worried as I have not had many two-week reports turned back into me.  But, I have faith that my students will take care of this problem tomorrow.  I hope.  I spent much of my time today finishing some notes on “The Jedi Council Speaks” so when I got home I could record some more so that all I had to worry about tomorrow night was editing and posting.  I got home and finished on the notes just before dinner and realized I had some more recording to do and had to make new intros for portions of the podcast.  Man, this whole blog/podcast thing is getting time consuming!   I went upstairs and ate dinner with the family and then went outside and hit the green screen with another layer of green paint to finalize the green coat.  Now all I need to do is lacquer it tomorrow night.  I got done with that, came inside and went downstairs.  I recorded until eight o’clock and decided I wasn’t doing any more work on the podcast today.  It would all have to wait till tomorrow.  Tonight I decided to rest and watch T.V.  So, I watched “The Sarah Connor Chronicles”, “Heroes”, and “C.S.I.:  Miami”, while I taped “Big Bang Theory”, “How I Met Your Mother”, “Two and a Half Men”, and “Worst Week” for viewing later.  After watching T.V., Heather and I went to bed.

Sunday and it was a busy Sunday.  But at least I knew this was going to happen for a while now.  It was going to be a busy day simply because of the zoo event for my FanForce group and the football game that my son had going on.  Austin had to be at the football field by ten o’clock this morning and I had to be at the zoo at eleven, so Heather and I had decided that church was out only because of the timing of both events.  I helped Heather get Austin and the girls ready for cheerleading and football and I got ready for my event.  Once they all left, I loaded up my car and got on the road and was over at the zoo by eleven o’clock.  It was a crappy day outside because it was raining like cats and dogs.  Luckily, James, one of our members with an EZ up tent showed up with a tent for us to put tables under.  We set up our tables just inside the zoo and then went and got changed.  We had a snowtrooper join us from PA and he seemed like a very nice guy.  We had a great time, even though it was in the rain a little and I have to say that most people there, were there to see us and not for too many other reasons.  We did manage to raise about $40 on the jail and bail, which considering the state of the weather outside, wasn’t bad at all.  We also had a few more people get in on the raffle of our “Star Wars:  Vault” book for the Lung Cancer Awareness Association, and raffled the book off today as well.  About half way through our event, Heather decided to come over and showed up with Austin and the girls.  Austin didn’t bring his costume and was bummed because I just installed into his costume yesterday a voice amp for his helmet and he wanted to test it out today.  That’s okay, I needed him to just be a handler for today anyway.  Heather left after about an hour, but left Austin behind to help me out.  We got packed up and were out of there by about four o’clock.  I got home and Heather got to cooking dinner right away, because she knew I was starving.  As I ate dinner I watched the Rams on T.V.  I was excited at first because they were actually winning.  However, not long after I started watching, the Rams imploded, and eventually lost to the Buffalo Bills.  After the game, I managed to watch my usual Sunday night T.V. shows while I taped Fox (“The Simpsons”, “Family Guy”, and “American Dad”).  I also discovered this evening that we were on the news and you can find our interview here:  http://www.wicz.com/fox40/video.asp?video=09%2D28%2D08+zoo%2Ewmv.  After watching T.V., it was time for bed.

Well, it’s Saturday and I had BIG things planned for the day and soon realized that I just didn’t have enough time in the day to finish all the things I wanted to get done.  I ended up getting up a little bit early, around eight-thirty or so to take Ruth over to the church because her communicants class is going to go to a Jewish Synagogue to witness their worship service and talk about the difference between the Jewish religion and our own.  So, I got up and got Ruth going and got her over to the church so she could leave with her group.  I then went to Lowes and bought some chain and some more spray paint because the realization hit me that one can of spray paint was not even going to come close to finishing the screen that I had from school for green screening.  So, I got the stuff I needed and as soon as I got home, I put the screen up in the garage and started to green paint the screen.  I also managed to use the chain to hang the screen in the garage.  It was raining, so doing it in the garage only made sense.  Once I got done with that, I then came inside and had some food and hung out with the kids.  I then went downstairs and started to edit my podcast.  Shortly after that, it was time for me to go pick Ruth up, so I did.  Once I got to the church I had to wait a little while and then picked Ruth up and brought her home.  Once I got home, I put on another layer of green paint on my screen and then came inside and ate some lunch with the family.  After that, I went downstairs and started to record more stuff for the podcast this afternoon.  I recorded most of the afternoon which left me with more editing to do, yet again.  I got done with recording just in time for dinner.  Heather called me upstairs and we ate some dinner together.  I got done and decided that I should watch our “Coupling” Season 4 disc, as we had it around the house for about a week and had done nothing with it.  I watched it with Heather for most of the evening while I got ready for our Star Wars event at the zoo tomorrow.  It was quite the day, but I got a lot done even though I didn’t feel like I had.

Well, it’s Friday and I got up this morning with many things to get accomplished.  It was a typical day of the week.  I got myself up and got the kids up and got them ready to go for the day.  We were able to get up and get going for the day without any hiccups.  Things went swimmingly as far as my morning at home.  My morning at school, however, turned into complete chaos!  I got to school and decided that I needed to use the laptops on the carts in our school, because my students needed to do research in class.  Well, I tried a whole bunch of different carts in the room and I couldn’t get the locks to work.  I finally found a cart that worked and realized the laptops weren’t plugged in and the batteries had died on them.  So I plugged them in quick and hoped they would rebound when we had the assembly this morning.  We were supposed to do two things this morning.  We were supposed to vote for Student Council, after listening to speeches from each candidate.  Then we were supposed to got outside and release balloons and start off the new school year with a campaign that was developed about two years ago.  Well, it was raining like cats and dogs outside, so they wanted to bring the concept indoors.  So, I was asked to set up the sound-system in the auditorium and had to have an administrator watch the students I had for first period in order to do this.  Then the person running the event asked me to hook up her Ipod to the system.  I felt validated later when I was thanked in an email later in the day.  Once we got done with the assembly we then did speeches and elections.  Then we went on with our shortened day and I feel like I had hit the ground running.  Each period was only thirty minutes long and it turned into it’s own little amount of chaos.  I got through the day and breathed a sigh of relief.  On my way home, I called Heather and let her know how much I got in my check and she commented about how she needed a new vacuum cleaner.  So, I suggested she go get a new one.  Tonight.  She was hesitant, but I convinced and explained that there were some things I wanted to go out and get myself, so it would make sense.  So, we ended up going to Sears and finding a nice Kenmore vacuum cleaner.  Of course, I tried to convince her to go bag-less, but the idiot salesman who didn’t know how to operate the vacuums changed her mind back to a bagged vacuum.  We got done with that and I suggested to Heather that we get the MP3 player that crapped out on me over the summer.  She actually agreed and we headed for “Circuit City” where I found a nice 1 GB Sansa for a reasonable price.  After we got done with this, we were all massivcly hungry, so Heather suggested we go to Pizza Hut, get some dinner and then we would be able to have left overs for lunch tomorrow.  Made sense, so we did.  Of course, I only realized later that we ate pizza at seven-thirty at night.  We got done and came home and I helped unload the car.  Heather left and went back out for another errand and I put her vacuum cleaner together and then attacked an awful smell in the fridge and found out that we had chicken rotting in the fridge.  Heather got home, and I went downstairs and worked on moving my Star Wars music over to my new MP3 player.  After that, we decided to watch some T.V. and then go to bed.  It was late and we had many things to do tomorrow.

Thursday and it was an okay day today.  I got up this morning and felt better than I did yesterday morning.  I still wasn’t a hundred percent, but more like ninety-percent.  I kept taking pepto today and drinking lots of water and that seemed to be doing the trick.  Tara was still being a pain this morning and I began to loose my patience with her.  She just has decided to try and be as much of a pain as she can be to me, just to see how far she can push me.  I got the kids out the door and I was out the door in time to get to work and school.  My students seemed to be behaving today and seemed to be understanding that I’m taking my class more serious now.  We even had a great bloc meeting today talking about discipline and what we’re doing in our classrooms that works and what we do in classrooms that doesn’t work.  It was good to share and good to know that everyone else was on the same page I was.  I also managed to find out today that an art teacher at my school, along with myself, are going to be presenting about MYP to a bunch of collegues on a half day that is coming up.  I’m excited about the concept and nervous all at once.  I hope that I can provide a workshop that’s not boring, but exciting and has people walking away with valuable information.  Let’s hope I can do that.  I know I can, I’m just a little nervous about it.  I got done with my day and told Heather that I needed to go to Lowes on my way home and pick up some spray paint to work on painting some screens in the garage to make green screens for school.  I went and got some gas and then spray paint on my way home.  I got home and it was mass chaos from the word go.  Once I got home, Heather and I had to immediately eat and then get right to Tara’s school for parent curriculum night.  We had a good time there and I got home and then it was time to get  things ready for the evening.  I had hopes of getting to editing my podcast, but no such luck.  Instead, I worked on some things on my blog and then watched some T.V. and then it was time for bed.

Wednesday.  Middle of the week and I have to say that I’ve got a lot accomplihsed this week, but i have a LOT more to do before the end of the week nears.  I got up this morning and felt like total crap!  I wasn’t sure why I felt this way, but I did.  I had diahrea in the worst way (sorry to get so gross) and I just didn’t feel right.  That was when the realization came to me that I may feel this way because of what I had eaten last night for dinner.  Part of my dinner was finishing off the chinese food from Sunday night and I think it’s possible that I’ve been dieting so long now, that my body is rejecting food that is high in grease and MSG.  Anyway, as bad as I felt I still managed to get up and get the kids going for the day. Of course, of all mornings, Tara has to decide to fight me today about whether or not she is going to go to school or not.  I waited for the babysitter to show up and then I was off to work and the kids were off to school.  I got to school and I was still not feeling well.  I think my students knew I was off because all my classes behaved like they should on most days.  We had a book club luncheon for lunch and I hate to say this, but I wasn’t happy with the food.  The main dish was Halupki, and I’m not a fan of cooked cabbage to begin with, and the Halupki wasn’t cooked bad, but because of my stomach, it set me off again to have more stomach problems later on in the day.  I made it through my work day and got home.  I asked Heather if I could take a nap, and she agreed and let me go to the basement and lay on my chair and take a nap.  After a while, Heather woke me up to come upstairs for dinner.  She had a nice mild dinner for me that consisted of wheat pasta, cream of mushroom soup, and turkey.  It was nice and seemed to settle my stomach a little bit.  I also took some pepto this evening and that seemed to work as well.  As I said earlier, I don’t think I’m sick, I think my body was reacting to the Chinese food I had.  I felt better after dinner and decided I better get to grading papers for my classroom, so I went downstairs and watched my tape of Monday Night CBS shows, while I worked on grading papers.  I watched “Big Bang Theory”, “How I Met Your Mother”, Two and a Half Men”, and some other new show before I had to turn it off for the Wednesday night shows.  Once I got to eight o’clock, I switched over to blogging while I watched “Night Rider”, “Till Death” and “Lipstick Jungle” and tapped “CSI:  NY” to watch at a later date.  Heather and I then went to bed at eleven o’clock.
