‘Star Wars: Shatterpoint, A Clone Wars Novel’ – Chapter 12 (Part 2)

Saturday and what a day it was!  I got to the movie theater and was joined by two members of the group and we stuck around for the matinee showings for the movie as the theater had asked us to.  Quite honestly, we had some great interactions with the kids, but there weren’t many people there for Clone Wars to begin with.  I’m a little dissapointed and I can say that I’m actually worried about the Star Wars franchise suddenly.  I’m wondering if this movie is going to make any money at all.  The staff seemed to appreciate us at the theater, but I think they think some of us take this whole thing a little too much to the extreme.  We got done with our Clone Wars stint and then headed for Giant to get some things.  We got some potato salad for tonight and then went home and got a little something to eat.  We all took a nap as it was going to be a long night, and then decided to put together a cooler, along with some alcoholic beverages and my rifle, some splodies and headed over to Wendy’s and got filled up on ice.  We then headed to my buddy Jeff’s house.

We had a blast at Jeff’s!  Literally!  It was awesome!  We had a great time.  We started out by having dinner with some of Jeff’s friends and the group (or at least the part of the group that could make it).  We got done with dinner and decided it was time to make some noise.  So, Jeff showed me his rifle shop in the house and I showed him my blackpowder rifle.  The big gun that Jeff showed me was his FAL.  What an awesome rifle that is.  If the rifle doesn’t hit you, it will at least make you piss your pants just from the shear sound of the gun.  And I thought my blackpowder rifle was loud!  I even got Heather to shoot a gun for the first time in her life, and I think she rather enjoyed it.  But, I have to admit the FAL is no fun unless it’s on fully automatic setting.  Then it’s a blast!  We got done with rifles and came down and spent some more time with the families while we filled thirty caliber rounds wtih black powder and put fuses in them and lit and threw them.  More fun for a bunch of splodie idiots!  They didn’t make much noise, but entertained us.  We got done with that and it started to turn dark, so we went up on the hill above Jeff’s house and lit off a bunch of fireworks.  That was a lot of fun, and I think the kids enjoyed the display.  We no more than started till Ian showed up and joined us in the fun.  We had a great finale adn the whole experience was awesome!  We then decided to have some brandy and sit around and talk after that.  Not too long affter, Heather convinced me to go home.  However, we took Ian’s keys because he was too knackered to go anywhere.  Great weekend, and great fun, but we had one more event to do tomorrow.

Okay, so let’s talk about Part 2 of Chapter 12 of “Star Wars:  Shatterpoint, A Clone Wars Novel” by Matthew Woodring Stover…..

Chapter 12 (Part 2):  Vastor tried to make some jabs, but Mace was just too fast!  The more he tried, the more Mace hit.  Six times in all.  But Vastor seemed to actually be getting stronger.  Vastor tried again, but was met with a counter move by Mace.  The Jedi explained to Kar that this was called Vapaad and asked how many arms he sees, then hit Vastor in the nose.  Mace kept hitting.  Injuring, but not killing the lor pelek till he begant o back away.  Mace told him to run, saying HE was the big dog here.  Before Mace got done talking, Vstor Force pushed Mace against a nearby lammas tree, and Mace wondere whent they would get to this part.  Mace ws then hurled forward and slammed against the skull of an akk dog.  The dog’s spikes ruptured Mace’s abdomen as it flung him aside like a rag doll.  Mace tried to relax and trn Vastor’s kinesis powers back on him, as he did, the forest came to life.  A gripleaf trailer (a vine like plant) grabbed his one ankle, while another one grabbed his other ankle and nearly squeezed the blood out of both.  He thought about getting his lightsaber, but that would be a version of defeat.  No, Mace decided to be clever.  Mace used The Force to shove him over the Akk guards and dogs as one of the guards scoffed at him being a “big dog”.  He grabbed the gaurd and used his shield to slice through the trailer before throwing himself helplessly into the woods…..
