‘Star Wars: Outbound Flight’ – Chapter 15 (Part 4)

Okay.  It’s Friday and you think things would be winding down for me, but for some reason they seem to be amping up.  I got up at five o’clock this morning to take Heather to work and then came home and crashed.  I know I haven’t even had a full week of this early morning thing and I’m already getting tired, grumpy, and sick of the whole “one car” situation.  I’m not a morning person and I know it, but this situation is just sending me into a new version of overload.  Anyway, I got home, crashed and then helped the kids get ready for school while I got myself ready for school.  What’s driving me nuts is Tara because she is not eating breakfast and getting herself together in a timely manner so I can get to school on time.  Today I ended up being at school by ten after eight which made my day start off late, which I was NOT a fan of!

Today we had our “Spirit Day” at school, so I had limited time with my students.  But, that was okay because it helped to give me time to introduce my projects to my classes.  I’m a little disappointed because my eighth graders don’t seem as excited about the video projects this year that classes in year’s past have been as excited about.  But, I figure that the word has gotten out about doing videos in my classroom, so now students are simply expecting me to do them.  My seventh grade class seems even less enthusiastic about Podcasting.  I’m figuring and hoping that once they actually get into the project they will be more excited about doing the project and get into the idea of the project.  I got done with school and came home and literally just crashed!  I was so tired that I actually slept for a good hour before I even thought about doing anything after school.  I then tried to chill out tonight and watch some T.V.  I knew tomorrow was going to be a long day and I wanted to conserve my energy for that day.
Okay, so let’s talk about Part 4 of Chapter 15 of “Star Wars:  Outbound Flight” by Timothy Zahn…..

Chapter 15 (Part 4):  C’Baoth continued a tour of the ship with Obi-Wan showing him the Weapons Blister Number One.  C’Baoth explained that his weapons specialists have to be sophisticated and intelligent, which Obi-Wan says is a hard combination to find.  C’Baoth told them that there were four blisters like this in each Dreadnaught.  He invited Anakin to hop into the pod and Anakin said it looks vastly complex.  C’Baoth tried to explain it, but Anakin said he could design something simpler himself.  C’Baoth said that Rendili Stardrive didn’t consult with the Jedi when designing this, but was confident that Anakin would learn how to operate the pod soon enough and showed him where to access a simulator.  Obi-Wan interrupted asking why C’Baoth was teaching Anakin this job and wondered why Captain Pakmillu didn’t already have someone to do this job.  C’Baoth said that Jedi posess abilities that no normal person could use during combat.  then he asked Anakin if Obi-Wan talked to him about Jedi melds.  C’Baoth said it lets Jedi link so closely to each other that they all almost think as one person.  Obi-Wan warns it can be dangerous but C’Boath warns that he has done the meld successfully four times now.  Obi-Wan sounded shocked that it was four, but C’Baoth said three were training exercises while the fourth was during a field exercise with five Jedi, and they all survived.  Obi-Wan pointed out that this was with five Jedi, but there are twenty Jedi onboard Outbound Flight….
