‘Star Wars:Republic Commando – Hard Contact’ – Chapter 16 (Part 1)

Okay, it’s Thursday and the last day before vacation.  I gave final exams all day long and even worked into my prep periods to make sure that every student that was in my classroom had an opportunity to take their full time on the final exam.  I also was able to edit the music videos over the last two days and my first period class was able to enjoy watching them this morning.  Today is always harder on the finals as it is performance day.  Students have to perform on instruments, whether it be keyboard or recorder, this is part of their final is the performance on an instrument.  I was exhausted by the end of the day.  I got home and took a ten minute snooze before having to go out with Heather tonight.  We realized on Tuesday night that we had not shopped for the Easter Bunny yet, so we had to go out and we had a teenager from our church come over and watch our kids while we went out shopping.

We went out for dinner at “Moe’s” a local Mexican restaurant and then went shopping.  Some of the shopping was for me, however.  I managed to find a “Buy One, Get One Free” sale on Titaniums at Kay-Bee Toys that Rebelscum.com had been talking about online.  I managed to get $25 worth of them and pretty much doubled my Titaniums tonight.  That was cool, and on top of that, Kay-Bee’s was offering a free Star Wars figure when you buy more than $15 worth of Star Wars toys.  Problem solved.  I picked up the 30th Anniversary pack of Mace Windu to go with my Ralph MacQuarrie Stormtrooper I picked up a few days ago.  We then went shopping for the kids.  It wasn’t hard at all.  We got them some smaller things at the Christian Bookstore and then went to Wal Mart.  We got each of them a Nerf Maverick (they’ve been oogling mine since I got it) and then some bigger gifts.  We got Ruth a C.D. Player for her to listen to C.D.’s to in her room.  We got Austin a Tie Fighter in 30th Anniversary packaging and we got Tara a “Plug n’ Play” Princess Game and a “Hello Kitty” DVD.  It was really fun to shop for the kids.  I also managed to get more spray paint for Mando costume and Heather picked up the vinyl for my vest.  I’m really getting excited as this thing is looking like it will come together.

We went to bed fairly early tonight as we knew tomorrow would be a long day with her going in for surgery.

Okay, let’s talk about Part 1 of Chapter 16 of “Star Wars:Republic Commando – Hard Contact” by Karen Traviss…..

Chapter 16 (Part 1):  “…Nobody’s ever asked me for my opinion before.” – Clone Trooper 5093, retired.  Chronological Age:  23; Biological Age:  60.  – Atin and Darman tried to be inconspicuous, but it was hard with white armor and bombs and rams clanking against their armor.  As they continued, Atin pointed out that this white armor was almost impenetrable.  They were now four hundred meters South East of he facility.  Jinart stopped and helped them enter a hole that she had literally sniffed out.  Darman and Atin climbed in the hole and Darman wanted to see what he was in, in natural light.  He found out, after turning on his outer lamp, that he is claustrophobic.  He turned on his night vision to avoid that feeling again.  As they went further, Atin asked Darman if he was okay and Darman said he was just disoriented.  The two clones asked Jinart why such small creatures, like Gdans, would build such big tunnels.  Jinart said that they would work as teams to get large prey into tunnels such as these to attack them…..
