‘Star Wars:The Approaching Storm’ – Chapter 13 (Part 6)

Alright, so it’s the start of a new month and a new perspective on things.  I’m interested to see what kind of feedback I get about that particular episode of TJCS and especially what I had to say in my comment suggestion at the end of the podcast.  I know I really put some off the wall comments out there about how communication in other podcasts and radio shows has been lacking lately, but I really do feel strong about communication for a podcast or online radio show.  It’s okay to be late with and episode or to change a schedule.  Just communicate it with your audience!

Anyway, today was a typical Wednesday “hump day” and to make matters worse, it was the day after Halloween.  I can see some of the tension in the school starting to die down, only to be replaced with sugar highs and lows of candy eating festivities.  And the beat goes on!  I got a distressed phone call from Heather after school today.  I was supposed ot wait at school until 4:20 or so to go to SMASH at Roosevelt that started at 4:30 p.m.  It’s kinda stupid to come all the way home and then go back for a SMASH rehearsal within fifteen minutes of being home.  Anyway, I get a call from Heather and she tells me that she is going into the walk-in clinic with Austin and that he apparently injured his foot at school.  She told me she would keep me informed as to what is going on.

I went to SMASH rehearsal and had a blast with the kids there.  It was great to be reminded what it’s like to be with kids that want to perform and are anxious to do well at all points in time.  It was a blast and I even got a chance to use some of the new lightsaber moves I’ve been practicing for a scene we are doing with broomsticks.  It fits in with what we’re doing almost perfectly.  So, see, Star Wars does even have musical applications.  No one can ever say it doesn’t have educational opportunities.  As we were having SMASH rehearsal, Heather kept texting me as to where they were in the midst of being at the walk-in clinic.  In the meantime, Ruth was at our neighbor’s house and Tara was with mom.  Heather finished about the same time that SMASH finished and no has eaten dinner yet.  So, I told Heather I would go home and pick up Ruth and we would all meet at Wendy’s to eat dinner and then get home as she just didn’t have time to get dinner together.  It was eight o’clock by the time we got home and the kids went to bed late and Heather and I went downstairs and watched our typical T.V. shows together and were just totally exhausted to go to bed.  What a day!!

Okay, let’s talk about Part 6 of Chapter 13 of “Star Wars:The Approaching Storm” by Alan Dean Foster…..

Chapter 13 (Part 6):  At the Qulun camp, a sentry blew a distress call on his horn.  Everyone in the camp started to wake up.  Luminara tried to communicate with her fellow captors, unsuccessfully.  Baintu got his sentries out on their steeds and to try to break up the stampede.  The Qulun were able to divert a majority of the Lorqual from entering the encampment.  Two were brought down before the camp and two rammed their way right into camp.  These two Lorqual smashed buildings and sent encamped animals to freedom.  The security around the visitor’s transport had left to secure the camp.  So Tooqui let himself inside and grabbed an Alwari knife.  His friends appeared to be okay.  Tooqui began to free Barriss talking about how he’s the bravest of his people.  The two fo them worked together to release Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Luminara and gather their equipment.  At that moment, something hit the transport almost knocking it on it’s side.  As Tooqui told them about the Lorqual herd, Anakin thought about how he wanted to throttle Baintu personally for doing this to them.  They then freed the Alwari…..
