‘Star Wars:The Approaching Storm’ – Chapter 10 (Part 7)

What a day.  I worked with my students to try and catch them up on some of their music history.  It didn’t quite work completely, but we did get quite a bit of work done.  I drove home looking forward to a nice relaxing evening with the family.  Nothing to have to worry about.  No cheerleading, marching band, or anything else for that matter.  I got home and we had a nice dinner as a family and we had a nice evening watching some T.V. together and just talking as a family and interacting.  Wow, it’s almost like we all care and love each other in these four walls.  We were just about to get ready to watch “Survivor” when Josh called around 7:30 p.m.  We talked about a lot of different things.  Everything from families, to marching bands, to Tuba Christmas.  We decided to do Tuba Christmas in Rochester this year as it usually happens earlier in the month which frees up time for me to spend time with both of our families.  However, I just looked up the schedule and found out that Binghamton’s is pretty early this year and Rochester isn’t even listed.  I’m wondering if we need to rething that, but I’ll call him later when it’s closer to that time of the year.  Josh explained to me tonight that the reason he was in Newark was to join his Marching Band staff for a competition for a USSBA competition down in the city.  He flew in and then came home on the buses with the band.  That made me feel better, I don’t know why, but it did.  Now I just gotta get Scott to stop at my house on the way to Geneseo one of these times {wink, wink Scott!! hehe}.  After Josh and I got done talking, Heather and I finnished watching our usual shows, “Survivor”, “C.S.I.” (which was really awesome tonight), and then we watched a tape of “The Unit”.  Then we went to bed.

Time to talk Wars of the Stars or Star Wars and Part 7 of Chapter 10 of “Star Wars:The Approaching Storm” by Alan Dean Foster…..

Chapter 10 (Part 7):  Luminara notes that if they can find the Hutt’s employer they could embarass him or her in front of the Senate.  Obi-Wan says he doesn’t have a lot of confidence in the Senate.  He points out that there are too many comittees and debates and not enough ation by the Senate which means negotiations can take decades.  Anakin thought to himself that this is why Jedi are better, just because they act.  Barriss moves towards Anakin as he leans toward the back wall of their protection.  Barriss said that she never saw anyone loose interest in carniverous plants so quickly and Anakin said he had other things on his mind, including the fact that this mission would be over with if they were able to use a landspeeder.  Barris tells Anakin that there are times that she thinks he’s a little too self – centered to be a Jedi.  They talked about the Republic and the Senate and the disbelief that Anakin has in the system.  Barriss agrees about politicians but reminds Anakin that they report to the Jedi Council and not the Senate.  Anakin points out that she didn’t grow up like him.  He lost his mom and Barriss asks what that feels like.  He tells her she is better off without that hurt.  Barris really began to realize that there was more to Anakin than missing his mother and that someone was going to have to get him to open-up.  Barriss decided to attempt to monitor Anakin and stay open-minded should he need someone to talk to.  She knew he would have to work through these feelings before he would ever be deemed a Jedi Knight.
