‘Star Wars:The Approaching Storm’ – Chapter 10 (Part 6)

Went to school today and had my usual Wednesday start until my principal decided that tonight we were going to have our staff faculty meeting.  It wasn’t supposed to happen today, it was supposed to be next week.  It normally wouldn’t be a big deal, except that I have marching band rehearsal tonight and I hadn’t planned on staying late.  That started my day and made things a little chaotic but things started to come together for my classes.  Students started to perform on instruments today.  Some classes are doing really well and others seem like they are really struggling with the basic concepts.  I got home and had a typical Wednesday night.  I had to wolf dinner down and get out the door for marching band practice.  Practice didn’t go as well as I hoped it would.  The students just didn’t seem to be as focused tonight as they have been in rehearsals past.  By the end of the night we got the focus back and was able to get the students back to rehearsing the way they should.  You can tell that the championships is coming up because the tension is starting to build up at rehearsals.  I got home and Heather and I watched some T.V. together and then went to bed.  Tiring day.

Let’s get out our lightsabers, light them up for light and talk about Part 6 of Chapter 10 of “Star Wars:The Approaching Storm” by Alan Dean Foster…..

Chapter 10 (Part 6):  They all watched as a membibi, a small indigenous creature, came out of it’s living hole in the ground.  A Chawix came down to land on the mambibi.  As it got closer to the animals, giant claws extended from the plant and killed the membibi.  The thorns on the plant began to darken as the plant sucks the blood from the dead membibi.  Obi-Wan noted that Chawix are a carniverous plant then, and Luminara thought the membibi died pretty quick.   Bulgan told them the Chawix have a volatile nerve agent in their claws.  Luminara said that after the dangers they’ve encountered, she understands why the Alwari celebrate a calm day.  Bulgan and Kyakhta both agree that they would rather be free on the plains than in a city.  Bulgan said that at least the plains don’t have Soergg the Hutt.  Luminara asked if they knew why they were sent to take Barriss and they said no.  They talk about the events up until now and Bulgan reveals they were told to capture either apprentices.  Obi-Wan wonders who paid Soergg the Hutt to attack them…..
