‘Star Wars:The Approaching Storm’ – Chapter 7 (Part 2)

What a busy Saturday!  I would’ve thought with not having a marching band competition this weekend, my weekend would be slower, but that’s not the case.  We had a lot to do today and what seemed to be little time to get it done in.  We had to go get groceries, go to Wal-Mart, and Sam’s Club.  We had to get all of that done by 1 p.m. because the kids had a one o’clock football game to play in Johnson City.  So, what did we do?  Well, we got up fairly early and headed over to Aldi’s.  We had the kids take along uniforms and what-not so they could change in the restrooms at the football field.  In retrospect, we should’ve just had them get dressed in their clothes, but Heather was afraid they would get their uniforms dirty.  Anyway, we then headed over to Sam’s Club for a quick pick up of some household items and ran into the director and his wife of my marching band there.  We left there, went to Wal-Mart to pick up some quick stuff and left and went right to the football game.  We made it there just in time.  We got out of the game around 2:30 and went home and crashed and then put away all the stuff we bought this morning.  We scrambled to get some dinner together and then Heather took off to work.  We were going to rent “Curious George” to watch as a family, but as I pointed out to Heather, we wouldn’t have had time to watch it, even if we wanted to.  I watched “Fantastic Four” this evening while the kids watched some Boomerang upstairs.  Heather called me around midnight tonight and told me they had just gotten slammed at work as a whole bunch of local high school football games had just ended and all the drunks from the game were going through her drive-thru.  It made me nervous to know this information, but I also knew this meant that Heather wasn’t going to get home until 3 or even 3:30 in the morning.  She didn’t want me waking up in the middle of the night and wondering where she was.  I think church for tommorrow may be a stretch as we have another football game tommorrow at 12:45.  I just feel like we are constantly reeling from not having time for anything extra in our house anymore!

Okay, time to talk about Part 2 of Chapter 7 of “Star Wars:The Approaching Storm” by Alan Dean Foster…..

Chapter 7 (Part 2):  Barriss comes over and asks what they are discussing.  Luminara says it’s none of her buisness.  Barriss stares at the stars and comments about the number of planets and number of stars and how she wants to visit as many as she can, that’s why she enjoys being a Jedi.  Barriss asks Luminara if she is lonely, and Luminara says that every Jedi is lonely to some degree or another, but Jedi use it to some flexibility.  Barriss asks if Anakin is searching for flexibility to which Luminara says she has great potential.  Barriss says that potential not recognized is a complete waste.  Luminara warns to not be so quick to judge.  She says she would have Anakin at her side in a fight anyday to which Barriss says in a fight, yes, but the rest of the time, maybe not.  Barriss retired as Luminara stared at the stars, contemplating the universe.  She mused with herself about the latest discussions and pondered whether Jedi needed to be happy to be successful, and whether she herself was happy or not.  Then she reminded herself to stay on her current task at hand and rolled over and went to sleep…..
