‘Star Wars:The Approaching Storm’ – Chapter 5 (Part 2)

First day of school.  Yeah!! Well, so far my students seem nice.  There weren’t any fights at school and everyone seems happy.  I give that till the end of the week and I think that will all change.  I still don’t have equipment or workbooks, but that’s okay because the whole first day turns into a day to try and let students know about classroom policies and procedures.  It usually takes a whole day at least to cover this material.  I’m hoping that I get workbooks sometime soon.  According to our copy center, I should receive them by next week.  Until then, I’ll have to continue to copying the pages I need on an as need basis.

I had quite a day and then I had marching band tonight.  Rehearsal seemed to go okay, but dragged on.  I think the kids were exhausted and wanted to socialize about their first day of school.  We got through practice together but really didn’t get a chance to get out a run-through.  I just hope they remember their sets for the first competition which is supposed to take place this Saturday.  I was exhausted by the end of the night and had no problem getting to sleep.

My kids don’t start school till tommorrow, but Tara is already “chomping at the bit” about her first full day of kindergarten.  She’s so excited, she is having a hard time falling asleep and singing in her room right now as I’m writing this blog.  She can be such a devil at times and can be so cute at other moments.

Okay, time to talk about Part 2 of Chapter 5 of “Star Wars:The Approaching Storm” by Alan Dean Foster…..

Chapter 5 (Part 2):  She realized mind tricks wouldn’t work on Bulgan either.  Bulgan commented that he hoped their boss let them have the lightsaber as his clan may respect him and let him return if he had one.  Barriss tried to trick him into giving up his boss’ name but he refused to.  She told Bulgan that she sensed they were both in tremendous pain.  When Bulgan asked how she knew, she said she was trained as a Jedi healer.  She explained that he and Kyakhta have a neurological disorder that slows down their mental processing skills.  She offers to try and fix the pain in Bulgan’s head.  Bulgan reluctantly agreed.  Barriss said he would have to untie her.  Reluctantly, Bulgan agreed and removed her restraints.  She immediately went to work and grabbed the side of his head with her palms facing in on his temples.  She strained using pwoers of te Jedi arts and meditated with Bulgan’s pain, making it her own pain.  When they got done, she asked Bulgan how he felt.  He stood up and said good, no great and began dancing around the room!  Bulgan walked over to Barriss and removed her leg restraints.  As he did so, the door opened and Kyakhta entered the room…..
